Domestic Violence Intervention Program


The The Piscataway Township Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Team (PTDVCIT) is a volunteer organization that assists victims of domestic violence in accordance with NJ law, specifically N.J.S.A 2C:25-20.  The PTDVCIT are comprised of paraprofessional volunteers, trained and certified in domestic violence counseling, under the guidance of the Piscataway Township Police Department.  Their purpose is to provide a range of aid, comfort, education, assistance, and referrals to victims of domestic violence and to increase public awareness, through education of individuals, groups, and the community. The team has been in existence since 1995, and has assisted over 1600 families in a time of crisis.The Team is actively recruiting new members, and will provide the necessary training.  If you are interested, please contact Lieutenant Frank Hackler at (732) 562-2351.
