POLICE DEPARTMENT |
Police Notification System [NIXLE]
The Piscataway Township Police Department utilizes a communications service that allows us to send important, valuable community information directly to residents using the latest technology.
The Nixle Community Information Service allows us to create and publish messages to be delivered to subscribed residents instantly through your home or cell phone, by hand held device, by text message and/or email. To receive notifications, register as subscriber at Nixle’s web site at www.nixle.com, or the application below.
Messages may include road closures and detours due to traffic accidents, flooding or construction, missing persons, crime information, as well as other relevant safety and community event information.
The messages can be sent specifically to residents giving them the opportunity to receive trustworthy information relevant only to their neighborhood. Residents decide from which local agencies they want to receive information. Subscribers can also choose the way in which alerts are received, whether it is by voice, email, text message, or over the web.
There is NO spam and no hidden cost. Residents receive messages by e-mail and by text message as part of their cellular telephone text messaging plan (message charges may apply).
If you have any questions or require assistance concerning the Nixle service, contact Sergeant Frank Hackler via email at fhackler@piscatawaynj.org.
