Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
For residents who would be considered income eligible, the State of New Jersey offers assistance with your home energy bills. e The Low IncomHome Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program and even if your heat is included in your rent, you may qualify. The program is administrated by the Department of Community Affairs. The Universal Service Fund (USF) was created by the NJ Board of Public Utilities and can be applied for any time of the year and is also administrated by the Board of Public Utilities.
